Job Title: Events Manager (Senior Level)

Job Summary
The Events Manager brings a senior project and event management profile to plan and execute larger-scale, complex events on the diaspora social club's calendar. Reporting directly to the Social Director, this role owns the full event lifecycle, including design, budget tracking, vendor management, and content creation. The Events Manager acts as a creative force, designing original entertainment for monthly membership socials, while serving as the secondary Event Host, as needed, to ensure seamless, high-energy execution.
Scope of Events
This role is responsible for the community’s large scale events, including but not limited to annual galas and themed balls, family reunion, Monthly membership socials, diaspora holiday celebrations, guest speaker series, community fundraisers, and management events.
Key Responsibilities
Event Planning & Execution
Manage full lifecycles of complex, large-scale social club events.
Design unique event concepts tailored to the diaspora community.
Own vendor management including sourcing, negotiating, and contract execution.
Track budgets and expenses meticulously to maximize event profitability.
Content & Entertainment Creation
Develop original entertainment, games, and activities for monthly socials.
Produce engaging content to enhance the overall attendee experience.
Collaborate on promotional materials to drive high member attendance.
Hosting & Operational Support
Serve as the Event Host, when the Social Director is unavailable, bringing energy and managing the stage.
Provide hands-on support for other chapter events as required.
Troubleshoot on-site issues rapidly to maintain a premium guest experience.
Technical Skills & Software Proficiency
Ticketing & Registration: Proficient in Event Brite or similar platforms
Administrative Suites: Expertise in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace for daily workflows.
Project Management: Skilled in Asana or alternative apps to map out timelines.
Education & Experience Requirements
Required Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Project or Event Management, Business Administration, Management or a related field.
Certified Meeting Professional (CMP), Project Management Professional (PMP), or similar certification is highly preferred but not required.
Required Experience
6+ years of experience managing large-scale, complex events or high-end productions.
Proven track record of owning end-to-end event budgets and vendor logistics.
Demonstrated creativity in developing original games, themes, or entertainment.
Stage presence with experience hosting or emceeing live events.
